I'm a survivor, I'm gonna make it...

So I have some of the sweetest news ever!  One of my most best friends ever, Jasmyn, well her husband just got back from filming the upcoming season of SURVIVOR!  He's the "big tatted" guy.  He's a firefighter on the Phoenix force, and is such a good/sweet/funny/loud/religious guy.  He's awesome!  Just read what Entertainment Weekly had to say:  “Joel is the one guy who might be able to give James [Clement, the returning Favorite from Survivor: China] a run for his money, because he is every bit as big as James. He’s a fireman, he’s a father and a husband, and when I met with him the thing that really struck me is how he does everything for his wife and his family. And I like that about him. He’s a big, big guy, and these challenges start off physical right from the get-go. Sometimes being a physical threat works against you early; I think in Joel’s case it’s going to be advantageous.”

Joel is sworn to secrecy, so not even Jasmyn knows who won.  I hope it was him.  But we'll find out in the upcoming season.  It premiers February 7 on CBS.
In other news, I started my job this week!  Crazy huh?  I love it, even though I'm just in training right now and will be for the next THREE months!  I will be a claims adjuster for Progressive.  So now that makes sense right?  I've got to learn about cars.  Hopefully I can do that in only three months.  :)  So for part of my training, I get to go to Florida for two weeks, of course that's in the beginning of February, so I'll be missing the Super Bowl (at least the party's going on here), Tara's birthday, and Valentine's day.  Bummer.  But even though I'm enjoying being out there working again, I'll admit the last two days I've cried a little when I've dropped my kids off and had to leave them crying for me.

leaving the kiddos as you trot off to work is the HARDEST. it takes a while, but soon everyone gets used to it. it's a win-win, really. you get a break and get to use your brain for something besides coloring, playdough and pb&j, and they get a change of pace, play with friends or grandma, and have a chance to miss mommy so hopefully one day they will realize what a rock star you are.

This is so cool that he was on survivor! I hope that he does well. We are huge fans of the show and will be routing for him. I have never met him and so I am happy that you posted. Now we will have someone specific to watch for. Cool write up about him. I didn't know that Jasmyn had any kids. I think I will check out her link. Crazy that even she doesn't know the outcome.
Let me know when I can take your kiddos. Cool about the trip to Flordia. Who is taking care of the babies? I can't imagine leaving my babies for all day, I had to leave Haylee when she was newborn until she was 2 for a couple of hours a day. It was really hard at first, but it will get better I promise, and your kids won't know any different! Keep on smiling. You will do great. Call me anytime.

Hey Kristen ... this is Sari. I can't wait to watch Survivor to see your friend! He really is .. BIG! The guy who won this last season is from Pleasant Grove and his sister that visited him there was one of my students. It is much more fun to watch when you "know" someone.
Good luck with your job! Sounds exciting. You are so lucky to be going to Florida in Feb. Then again .. you don't live in Utah winter so maybe that isn't as appealing as it is to us! Enjoy!

Go Joel! I haven't ever been a fan of Suvivor, but I'm going to have to watch now.

I am so glad you found a job that you like! I know it's hard leaving the kids crying in the mornings. I hated it! I am sure they will ajust though.

Love ya!
